HOW YOUR FUNDS CREATE IMPACT
The Childhood Center is the first long-term psychological rehabilitation space in Ukraine for children and parents affected by the war. The project is created by the Voices of Children Foundation, the largest Ukrainian charitable organisation providing comprehensive psychological support to children since 2015. The Center represents the next step in moving from emergency assistance to deep, long-term recovery and transformation in the lives of children and families.
Millions of children in Ukraine have been affected by the war. Many live under constant stress, have experienced displacement, occupation, or the loss of loved ones, and require professional psychological support. Children cannot wait for the war to end to begin their healing. Without timely help, trauma can shape their future for decades, affecting not only individuals, but the recovery of the entire country.
The Childhood Center is being built as a safe, nature-based rehabilitation space near Kyiv, designed to provide long-term programs for children and families. The Center will include residential modules, therapy spaces, creative and educational areas, sports facilities, and protected shelters, allowing children to recover in a secure and supportive environment. Each year the Center will be able to support more than 2,000 children and parents, while also training specialists who will work with traumatised children across Ukraine.
The rehabilitation approach used at the Center is based on modern trauma-informed methodology that works with the body, emotions, and personal experience. The goal is not simply to reduce symptoms, but to help children regain a sense of safety, rebuild trust, and restore the ability to learn, communicate, and live without fear. Real recovery means emotional stability, not only temporary relief.
The total budget required to launch the Childhood Center is 6 million USD, of which a significant part has already been secured. The funds will be used for construction, equipment, training of specialists, and the launch of the first rehabilitation programs. The project is designed as a long-term, sustainable initiative with transparent financial management, international partnerships, and independent evaluation of results.
In the coming years, the Center is expected to support thousands of children and families, train hundreds of professionals, and create a model of psychological rehabilitation that can be scaled across the country. We are not only building a center. We are building the foundation for the recovery of a generation.
